You really can’t get a better location in Dartmouth, than Grant’s Cottage. Set on Brown’s Hill pedestrian street, Grant’s Cottage is a Grade II listed building right in the heart of the conservation area with unrivaled views up the steps from most rooms. It is only a couple of minute’s walk to the quay, restaurants and shops, Grant’s Cottage is the perfect place to enjoy your holiday. Grant’s Cottage sleeps 8 and welcomes unlimited dogs.

Grant’s Cottage has a long history. Brown’s Hill was originally called Slippery Way and was the main road into Dartmouth, ponies were used to carry wealthy people up and down so they did not have to walk. Those ponies were stabled in Grants Courtyard and the corridor from the front door through to the back was a ‘walk way’. Now the downstairs has a eat in kitchen to the left as you enter Grant’s Cottage. It has everything you need to cook, including oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and half sized dishwasher.  It has a large table and chairs for family meals. On the right, is the living room with an original fireplace, log burner and large smart TV. Both the kitchen and living room have views up Brown’s Hill. At the back is a conservatory, giving extra seating space and leading out into a small and very secure courtyard garden (3.3m by 3.2m) for evening dining. There is also a utility room with washer-dryer. Some of the ground floor has the original wood flooring.

Original wooden stairs, which are steep, take you to the first floor, where there are two generous bedrooms; both have zip link superking or twin beds depending on which configuration you prefer. They share a family bathroom with bath and shower over. On the second floor, there are two further bedrooms each with ensuite shower room; both have zip link with superking or twin beds depending on which configuration you prefer. The bedrooms give flexible options in each room depending on your group; whether you are 8 friends staying together, 4 couples or 2 families! All the bedrooms have window seats overlooking Brown’s Hill.

Grant’s cottage has good internet speeds, plus smart TVs in all the bedrooms. Brown’s Hill is a pedestrian street, so one parking passe is provided for Mayor’s Road Car Park (about 2 minute walk away). Two passes provided from May 2022. There is plenty of on street unrestricted parking during the winter season.

Dogs will love their stay at Grant’s cottage. There are plenty of spots for an early morning swim including two small coves in Dartmouth near the castle. There are lovely dog walks along the coastal path and plenty of sandy unrestricted beaches within a short drive.

We realise that, in this time of Covid-19; most guests cannot travel in groups of 8 people. Our prices listed below are for 4 people using 2 bedrooms. Additional guests are charged at £20/guest per stay. We do not charge for dogs.
